Does he like me or something?

So my friends were trying to set me up with this one guy. He thought i was really pretty and his friend told me that he kinda liked me and i thought he was kinda cutetoo, but things got out of hand then someone made a lie that i LIKED him! ( um theres a big difference between liking someone and thinking there cute). After that he denined ever calling me pretty and liking me, but whenever i see him he's super nervous to see me( im kinda confused because i heard he's a playa nd he gone out with a lot of girls).
